A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Independent Non-Executive Director to join the board of Marine Bioproducts Cooperative Research Centre (MBCRC), Australia's largest marine biotechnology R&D hub, uniting over 70 partners from academia, industry, and start-ups to drive sustainable, high-impact innovations in health, nutrition, and biomaterials with a $270 million funding pool.

About you
The successful applicant must be able to meet the following criteria.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in the Biomanufacturing/Bioengineering Industry with expertise in either Biotechnology, Food & Beverage manufacturing or related discipline, with a deep understanding of the technical, regulatory, and innovation landscapes. Experience in translating research and development (R&D) into viable commercial products or processes is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in aligning R&D with commercial environments, including knowledge of product development cycles, scaling innovations, and navigating industry partnerships for market entry.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen at a strategic level gained through recent direct commercial experience in research, biotech or related sectors.
- Strong connections within biotech, bioengineering, and broader innovation ecosystems, both domestically and globally. The ability to leverage these networks to foster partnerships, attract investment, and drive growth in the marine biotechnology space.
