The opportunity
The Australasian Medical Publishing Company (AMPCo) is seeking expressions of interest for the role of Independent Chair and also for a Non-Executive Director. These pivotal roles will drive strategic growth and innovation while ensuring robust governance and a focus on long-term sustainability.
The company
AMPCo is a wholly owned commercial subsidiary of the Australian Medical Association Limited (AMA) and a key part of the AMA Group of Companies. As the commercial arm of the AMA, AMPCo operates as a niche business with approximately 43 staff.
AMPCo owns and manages Australia’s premier healthcare database, offering a suite of data solutions that empower the healthcare community with critical insights. In addition, AMPCo is renowned for publishing the Medical Journal of Australia (MJA) and InSight+, a leading digital doctor newsletter.
About you
The successful candidates must have demonstrated skills and experience in the following essential areas and in the context of an organisation of the size and scale of AMPCo:
- Demonstrated governance skills and experience as a board Chair and non-executive director
- Demonstrated skills and experience in commercially focused digital transformation, data asset management, innovation and commercialisation
- Leadership experience in a similar commercially focused B2B services organisation driving growth and market expansion
- Experience in risk management, particularly in the identification and mitigation of market/sector risks with a focus on revenue growth
Other highly desirable skills include:
- Data analytics and digital asset management experience
- Executive level experience leading change driven by revenue growth strategy
- Medical and/or health sector experience
AMPCo is seeking candidates preferably based in Sydney but will still consider candidates outside NSW.
